64/365 :: Tuesday 5 March 2019
getting some things planned out in my bullet journal while watching Parks & Rec for the third time.
65/365 :: Wednesday 6 March 2019
new iPhone setup, fueled by 5th & Jefferson. it took me a few hours, but I figured out how to get my custom ringtones back, and that was a delight!
66/365 :: Thursday 7 March 2019
the library haul, as usual. from classic children's literature that I had never read to poetry to new YA to new picture books, this nearly sums up my reading preferences.
67/365 :: Friday 8 March 2019
everyone loves mail.
68/365 :: Saturday 9 March 2019
at one point, there were two spider plants living here. the original one sprouted a second, which ended up overpowering the first one, I think. so now there's just one again, and I think it probably needs a bigger pot, but I really have no way of doing that. if someone just wants to manage my plants for me, that would be cool.
69/365 :: Sunday 10 March 2019
I thoroughly enjoy reminding my stylists (on the rare occasion that I've used StitchFix) that I really only wear black and grey. they still try to send something that is a dark color. I need to remember that they tend to send me "office-y" pieces that I won't wear and maybe that's why it's taken me over two and a half years to get one again. I ended up only keeping the cardigan.
70/365 :: Monday 11 March 2019
my very favorite subscription that I've ever purchased: Pipsticks. this month's was rainbow-themed.
57/365 :: Tuesday 26 February 2019
you would think that it would be easy for me to remember to bring a box of things to Goodwill, but apparently it's not.
58/365 :: Wednesday 27 February 2019
more snow. I looked back on pictures from this day for the two previous years, and there was hardly any snow on the ground at all. it's like being in a snowglobe.
59/365 :: Thursday 28 February 2019
I thought that the road would take me a short distance to a body of water, but I was incorrect.
60/365 :: Friday 1 March 2019
I finally found an acceptable replacement for the most recent pair of Steve Madden boots that I ruined. it was really hard for me to get rid of them (but I finally did) because I had so many memories attached to them. I knew that I wasn't throwing the memories away, but I just felt this weird attachment to a pair of boots with holes in the heels. (and an umbrella with a broken spoke, but that went out with the boots too.)
61/365 :: Saturday 2 March 2019
years ago, I first heard about a secondhand store that sold items that had been left in the luggage that was lost/left at airports, and I was quite fascinated by that. flashforward ten or fifteen years, and I heard about a book that featured one such store, and I had to read it. it was cute, but I do love YA novels.
62/365 :: Sunday 3 March 2019
everyone loves getting mail.
63/365 :: Monday 4 March 2019
here we are again.
50/365 :: Tuesday 19 February 2019
they finally picked up the snowbanks downtown.
51/365 :: Wednesday 20 February 2019
grocery shopping day.
52/365 :: Thursday 21 February 2019
possibly the best-smelling lip balm I've ever found.
53/365 :: Friday 22 February 2019
baking, day one. dough prep.
54/365 :: Saturday 23 February 2019
baking, day two. the actual baking. (chai-spiced snickerdoodles)
55/365 :: Sunday 24 February 2019
the millenial who says she's not a millenial has a rose-gold quip electric toothbrush.
56/365 :: Monday 25 February 2019
sunrise. always a favorite view.
43/365 :: Tuesday 12 February 2019
happy mail that always starts with a yay!
44/365 :: Wednesday 13 February 2019
traditional bridge sunset around Valentine's Day.
45/365 :: Thursday 14 February 2019
you know you work with preschoolers when...
46/365 :: Friday 15 February 2019
the sweetest Valentine.
47/365 :: Saturday 16 February 2019
Fire & Ice.
48/365 :: Sunday 17 February 2019
seriously one of the greatest little series I've read. it really made me think about how we learn things and how natural our knowledge is to us.
49/365 :: Monday 18 February 2019
I am so much more entertained by this bicycle than I should be. it's been there for over a year now.
36/365 :: Tuesday 5 February 2019
37/365 :: Wednesday 6 February 2019
it still seems that the winter will never end.
38/365 :: Thursday 7 February 2019
39/365 :: Friday 8 February 2019
Deer Man was stuck in my head all week after I first heard them working on it in the lobby.
40/365 :: Saturday 9 February 2019
forty words or less.
41/365 :: Sunday 10 February 2019
unicorn Valentines are the best Valentines, especially when they come with a tattoo.
42/365 :: Monday 11 February 2019
remnants of a week.
29/365 :: Tuesday 29 January 2019
I love that little gap in the snow.
30/365 :: Wednesday 30 January 2019
as the sun sets. but it will rise again.
31/365 :: Thursday 31 January 2019
wrapping up January to step into February.
32/365 :: Friday 1 February 2019
whoops. I broke another pair of Steve Madden riding boots. last time it was the zipper.
33/365 :: Saturday 2 February 2019
here we go again.
34/365 :: Sunday 3 February 2019
and they're off.
35/365 :: Monday 4 February 2019
Monday night at the museum.
22/365 :: Tuesday 22 January 2019
reading my way through the year already (and watching Late Night with Seth Meyers, of course).
23/365 :: Wednesday 23 January 2019
as the sun sets.
24/365 :: Thursday 24 January 2019
this week's library stack.
25/365 :: Friday 25 January 2019
I have left many a note in library books, sometimes accidentally whatever I'm using as a bookmark, but this was the first time that I found a bookcover and a few pages tucked into the dustjacket of a book. seeing this cover brings me back to seventh grade.
26/365 :: Saturday 26 January 2019
27/365 :: Sunday 27 January 2019
this is called the wreath fell off my door (Command strips don't usually fail me) and I don't own nails and haven't remembered to get them because I've only been to Target once this month. maybe someday I'll remember and it'll not be hanging in my kitchen anymore.
28/365 :: Monday 28 January 2019
when I used to live in a house, my bedroom window would get these beautiful crystals on it in the cold. I've missed that, but I got just a few this morning durning our cold and snow and wind, and that made me smile.
15/365 :: Tuesday 15 January 2019
I hung my dreamcatcher up after nearly five years of living in a box. it won a blue ribbon at the fair one summer... but will it work? that I don't know.
16/365 :: Wednesday 16 January 2019
outgoing mail. happy colors and loving words.
17/365 :: Thursday 17 January 2019
the carrots in the sugar skull Pyrex might look like Halloween, but there's winter outside.
18/365 :: Friday 18 January 2019
the snow is falling again.
19/365 :: Saturday 19 January 2019
because I can't remember how small it was when I brought it home.
20/365 :: Sunday 20 January 2019
a day shy of a two-year streak (it's still continuing) means that it was a day shy of two years since I returned from a trip to Ecuador.
21/365 :: Monday 21 January 2019
the sun will always rise.
8/365 :: Tuesday 8 January 2019
another week, another stack of books from the library.
9/365 :: Wednesday 9 January 2019
it turns out that you really do need to do the toothpick check even if they look cooked on the outside. (also, I managed to leave my cupcake potholders in a box at my grandparents' house on Christmas.)
10/365 :: Thursday 10 January 2019
they truly don't make them the way they used to. I've had these for six and a half years, but some of the ones I've had since then have already fallen more apart.
11/365 :: Friday 11 January 2019
maybe I'll return your quarters. maybe not. (but probably.)
12/365 :: Saturday 12 January 2019
if the library doesn't securely attach the dust jacket, I will take it off when I'm reading it.
13/365 :: Sunday 13 January 2019
14/365 :: Monday 14 January 2019
I put the dust jacket back on to take this book with me to a coffeehouse in Green Bay because I try to not have strangers talking to me in public. does it work? not always.
I never made it out of Wisconsin, but I saw some new places anyway
7137 miles driven in my Volkswagen Beetle, plus unidentified miles in the other four cars I drove
I saw Lake Michigan in at least three cities
thirteen cemeteries visited
my first traffic violation (oh hey, Milwaukee County parking ticket)
dessert for lunch at SAP at least once
I hung out with other people’s dogs and cats and small children
439 pieces of happy mail sent
1 new tattoo
first experienced the joy that is grocery shopping at Aldi
a second library card
103 books read (YA, true crime, poetry, fiction, and non-fiction), plus four and a half audiobooks and innumerable picture books
my cookbooks now live in my kitchen
I listened to every episode of the greatest podcast (My Favorite Murder) at least once
sunsets, sunrises, but never a mile swam
8557 photographs taken
so many hugs
dishes and laundry washed, pots of coffee brewed
phone calls, questions, and text messages answered
four new plants, three of which are still alive
my first check for photography work
and never enough sleep.
here’s to hoping that we all find what we’re looking for in 2019.
