246/365 :: Monday 3 September 2018
I am not going to miss that bench.
247/365 :: Tuesday 4 September 2018
apartment aesthetic: books, plants, IKEA, and exposed brick.
248/365 :: Wednesday 5 September 2018
this is part of why I teach preschoolers.
249/365 :: Thursday 6 September 2018
morning light jade shadow.
250/365 :: Friday 7 September 2018
I ordered a couple new pairs of pants from AEO. you can now customize the back tag, so of course I had to get a gold one. the writing on the pocket inside the pants made me laugh though, because who honestly writes their name inside their clothes anymore? should I be concerned that I might confuse my pants with someone else's?
251/365 :: Saturday 8 September 2018
lots of fun things in the mailbox today.
252/365 :: Sunday 9 September 2018
gold stars always.
232/365 :: Monday 20 August 2018
I thought that having a couple weeks off from the Y would make me feel like I had a little more time to get things done, but I still kind of feel like I'm running circles around myself. this plant and its new leaves make me smile.
233/365 :: Tuesday 21 August 2018
I'm constantly falling behind on keeping up with my one sentence a day journal. but clearly, I need to clean my desk too.
234/365 :: Wednesday 22 August 2018
Aldi number five. it would be my favorite if it wasn't so far away.
235/365 :: Thursday 23 August 2018
a day to breathe and get some things done that I've put off for too long.
236/365 :: Friday 24 August 2018
when you finally respond to the note that you received over two months ago...
237/365 :: Saturday 25 August 2018
clouds. so many clouds lately.
238/365 :: Sunday 26 August 2018
there are often leaves (is that the right word?) falling off this guy. he's my favorite though.
239/365 :: Monday 27 August 2018
not my vehicle, but I'll pretend for a couple mornings. it's definitely weird switching from a Beetle to a Wrangler, getting used to it after a little over a day, and then switching back and feeling so low to the ground again.
240/365 :: Tuesday 28 August 2018
a different cemetery wandering.
241/365 :: Wednesday 29 August 2018
right before finding some books I've been looking for at Goodwill, including a hardcover first edition copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. it's so sad to watch stores that have been around for as long as I can remember closing.
242/365 :: Thursday 30 August 2018
that one time that I considered stealing a dog.
243/365 :: Friday 31 August 2018
when you leave your gently used guitar pick in your room when you leave, it might become mine.
244/365 :: Saturday 1 September 2018
when summer starts turning to autumn.
245/365 :: Sunday 2 September 2018
218/365 :: Monday 6 August 2018
I like picking up rocks when I visit beaches, so I have a few random rocks around my apartment. this flat one from Portage Park is my favorite, though those little ones from the Egg Harbor beach are pretty cute too.
219/365 :: Tuesday 7 August 2018
I do a lot of people watching from my windows. on this afternoon, I watched a man sit here to eat his ice cream sundae and throw a spoonful of it onto the sidewalk for his dog. he later left the garbage on the table when they left, and that seemed so strange to me because it wasn't like he had sat outside and ordered at the table. he ordered inside, and so that is where he should have brought the glasses back to. it's August so we're about halfway through peak season, and working in the service industry for almost eleven years has given me some opinions on the proper way to treat those who work hard to serve others.
220/365 :: Wednesday 8 August 2018
I got a great deal on this beautiful vintage suitcase which is still in pretty good condition considering its age. I really wanted the red one instead, but the smell of that one was a little too strong for me to invest in as my first piece of vintage luggage. I thought that the guy was just kidding when he said that the person's initials were BAD, as that was where the Tiara line nameplate was on the other one that I was looking at, but upon further inspection, it seems as though he was correct.
221/365 :: Thursday 9 August 2018
birthday cupcakes from my supervisor (:
222/365 :: Friday 10 August 2018
I always have to laugh when I get a card from my other daddy and mama because it reminds me of the time that they bought me a birthday card for Christmas because they knew I'd like the image on the front. so happy birthday, Jesus that year.
223/365 :: Saturday 11 August 2018
newest plant (birthday gift) with a hidden good luck charm inside.
224/365 :: Sunday 12 August 2018
the most perfect tomato from a friend's garden down the block.
225/365 :: Monday 13 August 2018
stopped in Rosendale at a cemetery as the sun was setting, and then there was a beautiful cornfield (or something) in the back.
226/365 :: Tuesday 14 August 2018
the last day of summer camp is always bittersweet, but this year it seemed to have flown by even faster than usual.
227/365 :: Wednesday 15 August 2018
228/365 :: Thursday 16 August 2018
Pipsticks (photo above) has been sending out a giant puffy sticker the past few months and I finally figured out where to put one!
229/365 :: Friday 17 August 2018
more books, always.
230/365 :: Saturday 18 August 2018
added a new vintage postcard to my wall display of my hometown away from home.
231/365 :: Sunday 19 August 2018
I ordered these beautiful postcards and stamps from the USPS website without realizing how big the postcards were going to be (6x8"). they are so beautiful though and could make a great gallery wall.
211/365 :: Monday 30 July 2018
thank you, Jim Dale, for your beautiful reading of my favorite series. I never thought I would get into audiobooks, but I couldn't pass up the deal that Amazon was offering.
212/365 :: Tuesday 31 July 2018
I love watching these plants grow from Tuesday to Tuesday.
213/365 :: Wednesday 1 August 2018

216/365 :: Saturday 4 August 2018
I kind of want to buy myself a macro lens for my birthday.

204/365 :: Monday 23 July 2018
just another day in the car to visit some of my favorite people. <3
205/365 :: Tuesday 24 July 2018
the weekly library stack photo.
206/365 :: Wednesday 25 July 2018
my landlord left the door open to one of the other (empty, obviously) apartments, so I had to go and see how cute it is.
207/365 :: Thursday 26 July 2018
a very hygge day.
208/365 :: Friday 27 July 2018
there are just stacks of books everywhere. I'm getting really excited about rereading my favorite Harry Potter book along with Harry Potter and the Sacred Text very soon! it will be my first time reading along instead of just listening to the podcast (which I started listening to a year ago, when they were at the end of the third book) since I actually have a copy of this book. I actually rescued this copy from a hotel in Quito, and a year prior to taking this photo, I sat at the canal and read a chapter (Luna Lovegood, if you were wondering) in the middle of a week that turned out to be much more stressful than I was even expecting it to be.
209/365 :: Saturday 28 July 2018
lots of fun mail this week. I can't get over those stamps (The Tortoise and the Hare & The Little Engine That Could) from Hong Kong, and seeing this IKEA catalog made me really want to make the drive down to Milwaukee to visit the new store. I am so happy that I finally don't have to go through the toll roads (or the longer drive to the great city of Minneapolis) to visit my favorite Swedish store. I want all of the things.
210/365 :: Sunday 29 July 2018
remember: bad dreams don't last forever and in the end, there's only love.
197/365 :: Monday 16 July 2018
I knew that I was getting really close to being next in line to borrow I'll Be Gone in the Dark from the library, so I had to add a couple lighter reads to my hold list too. well, I returned the Nordic book because it was longer than I thought, and then I just dove right into I'll Be Gone in the Dark after Eleanor & Park. #murderino
198/365 :: Tuesday 17 July 2018
a beautiful morning at Schopf's Dairy View with the preschoolers.
199/365 :: Wednesday 18 July 2018
200/365 :: Thursday 19 July 2018
stickers on every notebook, always, and always representing my favorite Social Print Studio.
201/365 :: Friday 20 July 2018
dear anyone who thinks that my current love for true crime,
it's a form of protection in some weird sense to know about these terrible people and terrible crimes. it's also a fascination of how these people were able to get away with it (and for so long)! additionally, if you think that I will be going off to commit crimes, please remember that I work in a licensed child care setting, so my fingerprints are on file with the state of Wisconsin.
a weird murderino
202/365 :: Saturday 21 July 2018
it's always a lovely day when my Pipsticks arrives! happy mail, always.

just hanging out under a rain cloud for a couple days.
194/365 :: Friday 13 July 2018
I ordered myself my first pair of Vans as a reward for surviving SBSF2018 and two dental appointments. I sometimes forget when I order things online, and I also ended up buying another pair of Converse at TJ Maxx in between ordering these and them arriving.
195/365 :: Saturday 14 July 2018
I can't tell if Target just put the stripes on here really weird (probably) or if they purposely made some of them look like piano keys from a couple angles.
196/365 :: Sunday 15 July 2018
can someone please tell me if I killed this succulent? the spiky part used to be bright red, but now it seems to have grown an arm? I'm so confused.
183/365 :: Monday 2 July 2018
I went to THE Farm with a friend because baby goats. but there were too many people and I only took a photo of this chicken.
184/365 :: Tuesday 3 July 2018
we took the kids to my favorite field trip of the summer - the USCG Canal Station in Sturgeon Bay. I think it's so special that they allow us to come visit for a tour. I think this was our seventh annual trip (last year we switched to July instead of the usual visit near/on my birthday), and we've had a slightly different experience every time. the Coastguardsmen (we've had women too, but I think that that's still the proper term) and Moose the dog have always been so wonderful. anyway, this lighthouse is on public property, but seeing it always makes me think of these great summer trips.
185/365 :: Wednesday 4 July 2018
186/365 :: Thursday 5 July 2018

188/365 :: Saturday 7 July 2018

189/365 :: Sunday 8 July 2018
currently my favorite postcard waiting to be sent out. (I can't say that it's my favorite vintage postcard currently in my possession because I have too many of those.)

180/365 :: Friday 29 June 2018
oh look, more mail to send. those popsicle stamps are scratch 'n sniff, but I'm not really sure what they're supposed to smell like. they don't seem to smell like popsicles.
181/365 :: Saturday 30 June 2018
this is the best dish soap, and yes I did buy it in the winter. I'm also loving my new dish "sponge" made by my friend Jen. (:
182/365 :: Sunday 1 July 2018

when you're putting on the bracelet that you've worn every day for nearly three years and it decides to explode everywhere. thankfully, the lovely young lady who made it for me is able to repair it, but it's weird being without it!
